Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist?
No — physiotherapists are first-line practitioners, so you can book directly. If you have a referral, bring it along, as it helps with your treatment plan and medical aid claims.
Do you work with medical aids?
I work with medical aids and charge medical aid tariffs. Physiotherapy gets covered out of your medical aid savings. If savings are available physiotherapy will get covered fully, with all the admin handled by Carla de Beer. If you don’t have any savings you can pay via cash/EFT. You can message Carla on WhatsApp with regards to fees.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your ID, medical aid details (if applicable), any relevant referral letters, scans or reports, and comfortable clothing you can move in.
What makes Carla different when treating lymphoedema?
Carla is a qualified HPCSA-registered physiotherapist with Certification from the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy (USA). If you are suffering with Lymphoedema after Cancer treatment she can help you apply for treatment to be covered by Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) / Oncology Benefits, helping to lessen financial strain.
